The Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria’s Alumni Club gave a special musical experience to CWBB’s members and friends with the opera “The Flying Dutchman” by Richard Wagner on Saturday evening, July 16. The event took place at Pancharevo’s lake, where the Sofia Opera and Ballet summer stage is set up. It is part of the summer festival, “Muses of the Water”, held for the third consecutive year. The impeccable organization was by Hristina Staneva, Deputy Director of the Opera and member of the Management Board of the Alumni Club.
Before the start of the opera, the guests had the opportunity to take a peek behind the scenes and see part of the preparation. Vera Beleva, Stage Manager and Technical Director Assistant of “The Flying Dutchman,” took the guests on stage and behind the scenes, where the magic of the lake scene in Pancharevo takes place.
Acad. Prof. Plamen Kartalov – Director of the Sofia Opera, greeted and welcomed the guests.
The networking cocktail before the event was an opportunity for exchanging ideas for future events and cooperation with the Opera.
The incredible performance of the opera, “The Flying Dutchman,” was performed by the soloists Kurt Riddle, Markus Marquardt, Kostadin Andreev, Daniel Ostretsov, Radostina Nikolaeva and Alexandrina Stoyanova. Conducted by Rosen Gergov, the Sofia Opera choir and orchestra recreated the romantic atmosphere.
After the event, the CWBB guests had the opportunity to go on stage to take a group photo with the artists and congratulate them.
