- The country manager for Bulgaria of Pedersen and Partners met interns from member companies of Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria
- Follow your dreams and develop your talents, said Bushandrova
“Do not count on just one profession, you have to choose at least three. Develop your talents, follow your dreams and do not be afraid to ask for advice”. This advice gave Irena Bushandarova, Country manager for Bulgaria of Pedersen and Partners, during a meeting with interns from member companies of Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria.
This was the fourth event of the young.LEADERS.talk series within the Council’s National Internship Initiative. Their purpose is to enable young people to meet their role models – from political leaders and top managers of leading companies to young professionals and entrepreneurs – and draw lessons from their personal stories. The meeting took place at House of Sofia art space.
Irena Bushandrova discussed with the interns what kind of qualities the employers are looking for and what is the appropriate behavior during a job interview. Bushandrova also shared examples from her professional experience. “There is nothing scary in changing your profession. Do not follow trends but rather follow your heart and listen to your mind”, said Bushandrova who has moved from banking to human resources sector.
Bushandrova highlighted the internship importance as a career springboard. During an internship try to get as much knowledge as possible from your mentors, Irena added. In her opinion beside the job description the employers are looking also for flexibility, determination, willingness for working and learning. Gaining initial experience in a big international company is a good basis for future career, stated Bushandrova. She believes that a foreign university degree is not a crucial decision factor for an employer to choose between several candidates, but it is considered to be a plus. The events within the National Internship Initiative of the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria continue next week.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria has been organizing the National Internship Initiative “Stay in Bulgaria”. The program is oriented towards the youngest professionals and will enable them once again to prove their qualities and skills, to get involved into the real business and to find opportunities for development along with suitable environment and a stimulus for their professional realization in Bulgaria. The initiative is under the patronage of Mrs. Eva Maydell, MEP.
In 2018 the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria launched its Young.LEADERS.talk series which takes place within the Council’s National Internship Initiative. Its purpose is to enable young people to meet their role models – political leaders, managers and young professionals who started their own careers as interns, as well as to visit some of the largest companies in Bulgaria. In this way young people have the opportunity to get familiar with the business world and to learn how companies are organized and how they operate.
