- The Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria is preparing a new international forum focused on education
- The Deputy Prime Minister accepted the invitation to become an honorable member of the organization
The upcoming presidency of EU is an excellent opportunity for our country to be promoted in Europe and all over the world. Such a common position expressed the deputy prime minister and the minister for presidency of EU Denitsa Zlateva and all the members of the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria (CWBB) over lunch.
On the meeting were discussed topics such as: the Presidency of EU, the need of qualified staff in business, potential areas of cooperation and leadership among women. The Deputy Prime Minister marked that Bulgaria has a lot of successful women who are managers on high positions, regarding this our country could be a leading example. “A leader has to lead, not to command”, she added.
According to Mrs. Zlateva the upcoming presidency of EU has to become a national cause for all political parties and the whole society in Bulgaria. She spoke about the priorities of the Presidency, prepared by the Government, which are: growth and competitiveness, security and emigration, climate protection, finance frame of EU after 2020 and also the consolidation of EU as a global player on the world map. Regarding her words the development of education and connecting it with the needs of business will be one of the topics, which will be developed over the next years.
The Chairwoman of the Executive Board of Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria and CEO of Siemens Bulgaria Dr. Eng. Boriana Manolova spoke about the leading projects of the Council like the Leadership academy and the National internship initiative. She shared her satisfaction from the results of the Global Women Leaders’ Forum, which CWBB organized in May 2016 under the patronage of UNESCO. The forum gathered in Sofia female leaders from all over the globe, who discussed topics in the field of business, policy, security, science, media and culture. “In 2018 we plan a new international forum focused on education, which we hope to have the same success as the one we held last year” marked Dr. Eng. Manolova. She suggested the forum to be included as an accompany event in the calendar of the upcoming Bulgarian presidency of EU.
Mrs. Zlateva reacted positively to the proposal. As other potential field of cooperation with the Council she pointed out the involvement of more young people in the preparation and the realization of the Bulgarian presidency. Regarding her words, we could think of a way how the participant in the National internship initiative of CWBB could be involved as volunteers during the events, related with the presidency of the European Union.
In the end of the meeting Denitsa Zlateva accepted the invitation to become an honorable member of the Council of women in the business in Bulgaria.
