Young and successful managers from leading companies in Bulgaria to come in the schools as part of the program for carrier orientation. This was agreed at a meeting in the National Assembly, held by the Chairwoman of the Education and Science Committee – Mrs. Milena Damyanova (GERB), the Deputy Chairwoman of the Committee – Mrs. Galya Zaharieva (GERB) and the members of the Management Board of the Council of Business Women in Bulgaria (CWWB). According to the Council it could demonstrate some effective techniques and behavior models for the students so as to motivate them to study and find their professional path in the country. “We have a great number of colleagues who are able to inspire the children and to show them what they are capable of achieving”, as the Chairwoman of the Management Board Dr. eng. Boriana Manolova said. She was accompanied by several of the members of the Management Board of the Council – eng. Vanya Kaneva (Executive Director of CWWB), Darina Stoyanova (General Manager of „Pretige-96“), Julieta Serafimova (General Manager of Grand hotel Sofia) and Valentina Dikanska (Director International Projects and Programs of CWWB).
“Nowadays youth suffers from loss of motivation, so we are here to help them recharge it”, added Mrs. Darina Stoyanova. “The business is ready to collaborate with students in their senior years, as well as with children in primary school. Carrier development relies more on skills such as working in a team, presenting, performing well in a job interview and even managing your time, rather than acquiring professional knowledge”, the ladies remarked during the meeting.
Boryana Manolova informed that this year the Council has its third edition of the Leadership Academy. The Academy represents an educational initiative, whose target group are young women from the middle level management. On behalf of the organization she demonstrated readiness to share their experience. “This may be a new drive in our cooperation – we can implement together series of workshops for both teachers and directors”, Mrs. Damyanova embraced the idea. She states that it would be a successful beginning of new platform, the purpose of which is to provide the teachers with further and profound qualification, helping them to run effectively the classrooms. At the meeting a preliminary agenda for cooperative work with schools was drawn up.
Throughout the event Mrs. Vanya Kaneva presented another main CWWB project – the platform “Stay in Bulgaria”, in which the companies-member of the Council every year open 1000 internship positions and give the opportunity of more than 300 young people to start their carriers in Bulgaria. Mrs. Kaneva also spoke out about the last project of the Council – “The Leaders of the Future”, thanks to which 25 students from last grades and freshmen in universities in Bulgaria, UK, Spain, Germany will take part. The Summer Academy will ease youth into the carrier prospects under the form of projects “Innovators of Futures”.
On behalf of CWWB Mrs. Damyanova was honored for her active work in the field of education in entrepreneurship and leadership. In May this year she was one of the lectors, participating in the Global Women Leaders’ Forum, which took place in Sofia.
