• Mayor of Sofia Ms. Yordanka Fandakova gave official start to the new school season
• 40 ladies beat the competition and will participate in the program

The start of The Fifth Jubilee edition of the Leadership Academy of the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria was officially given on 26^th of September at the International center of UniCredit Bulbank. This year among the hundreds of candidates, 40 ladies were selected to participate in the prestigious training program. The official ceremony was attended by former participants of the Leadership academy, members of the Council, partners and friends.

The Mayor of Sofia Ms. Yordanka Fandakova, who is patron of the program, gave official start to the new school season. “One of the most valuable sides of the Leadership academy is the environment and communication. I congratulate the 40 participants and I wish them success”, said Ms. Fandakova in her greetings. She also greeted the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria, which, according to her, brings together wonderful female leaders who show to Europe that Bulgarian women have many qualities and that women can effectively run companies.

The Chairwoman of the Council of Women in Business and CEO of Siemens Bulgaria, Dr. Eng. Boriana Manolova, also welcomed the participants. “It is always a very emotional moment for me to give start to the Leadership Academy. This year it is its fifth jubilee edition. I hope it will be useful for all the participants who overcame the fierce competition”, said Mrs Manolova. She expressed her gratitude to Yordanka Fandakova, to UniCredit Bulbank and to the companies, whose representatives train the participants.

They were also welcomed by Tsvetanka Mintcheva, Head of Global Banking Services Division and Member of the Management board of UniCredit Bulbank and member of the Management board of the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria. “This is the fifth edition of the Leadership Academy which proves that it is not only a great initiative but also a sustainable one”, said Tsvetanka Mintcheva.

The Leadership Academy is a free training program organized by the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria. It is oriented towards  ladies from the small and medium business.

The Leadership Academy is one of the two major initiatives of the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria. It is a highly professional leadership program for ladies at middle management positions as well as owners of small and medium businesses. The Leadership academy supports one of the Council’s goals – to offer accessible programs to encourage the professional development of women in small and medium enterprises and their growth to high managerial positions. The project is financed by the companies from the Council and is completely free of charge for the participants. The initiative is under the patronage of the Mayor of Sofia, Mrs. Yordanka Fandakova.
