“The common feature of women both in business and in politics are the good results. Results in business are visible in short term while the results in politics become visible after years”. This stated the President of the National Assembly of Bulgaria Ms Tsetska Tsacheva during a meeting with members of the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria. The topic of the meeting was “Women in politics and business”.
“I highly appreciate your aspiration for involving young people in the initiatives you organize. We must provide young people with a positive environment for their professional development”, the President of the National Assembly Ms Tsatseva said.
The members of the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria were welcomed by the MP Irena Sokolova – a chairperson of “Women GERB”. Female members of different parliamentary groups also took part in the event. A guest of the meeting also was Mr Tsvetan Tsvetanov – a chairman of the parliamentary group of GERB. In his opinion: “Europe needs a more positive spirit as we need to put behind the confrontation and aggression”. He also proposed the Bulgarian female MEPs from all parliamentary groups to invite the Council of Women in Business to a special meeting in the European parliament.
Dr. Eng. Boryana Manolova, chairperson of the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria and CEO of Siemens Bulgaria presented the major projects of the Council, among them the Leadership Academy for women from small and middle-sized enterprises or occupying middle management positions. The initiative is under the patronage of the Mayor of Sofia Ms Iordanka Fandakova. Another significant project is the National Traineeship Initiative under the patronage of the Bulgarian MEP Ms Eva Paunova.
Ms Manolova also announced the forthcoming Global Women Leaders Forum which is going to take place in May in the city of Sofia. The event is organized by the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria under the patronage of Ms. Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO and official candidate of our country for UN General Secretary.
“The next generation is very clever and qualified. That is why the topic of the Global Women Leaders Forum is “Inspiring the next generation of leaders”. About 20% of the participants in the National Traineeship Initiative had the chance to continue working for our member companies”, said Dr. Eng. Manolova, focusing on the Council’s strong dedication to the development of the young people in Bulgaria.
The members of the Council of Women in Business and the deputies shared a common vision that the investment in the education and the trainings is extremely important priority for our country.
The President of the National Assembly Ms Tsetska Tsacheva became an honorary member of the Council of women in business in Bulgaria.
