The issue of values is not a matter of gender and it is the most important issue for our society today.
This is what Prof. Dr. Lachezar Tsotsorkov highlighted during the meeting with the Council of Women in business.
“The issue of values has no gender. It is the most important issue for our society today, as the situation is tragic,” said prof. Lachezar Tsotsorkov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of “Assarel Medet.” It was a special guest at the meeting of the Board of the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria. Zoya Paunova, CEO of “Astra Zeneca Bulgaria” and board member of the Council of Women presented prof. Tsotsorkov as a “dear friend, special person, citizen, patriot, businessman, thinker and visionary.” Tsvetanka Mintcheva, member of the Management Board of UniCredit Bulbank and the Council of women present told the guest about the main programs of the organization, including the Leadership Academy for women in small and medium business, the National internship initiative for young people and others.
Prof. Tsotsorkov noted that according to him, women are the stronger sex on the planet.
“They have very high vitality and energy. The female managers in our company are proof that women are often better managers, they understand people better and are more communicative with employees,” he said.
According to Lachezar Tsotsorkov, it would be important and useful to compile a set of guidelines for the values that make people successful and good. He announced that he is planning to create boutique branch of the university in the region of Panagyurishte, in which he and other successful people can share their experiences to the next generation of leaders. “Create good habits and the life of the person will be easier and more successful,” he said.
“The other big issue for Bulgaria is the need for efforts for the competitiveness of the economy. It is not news that our positions in the rankings are not good,” he said. According to him, no matter which political party is in power, the government should concentrate primarily on those factors that increase the country’s competitiveness.
“In my experience, I think that whatever is done should be done at the global level, otherwise there is no point,” Tsotsorkov said. “It may be something small, but to shine as a jewel.”
In addition to developing a successful business that employs hundreds of families in the region, the company “Assarel Medet” is also known for its active work in the field of corporate social responsibility. “Our investment program is the first place – in technology, ecology, etc. We always have resources for social activities. Even if it causes problems with shareholders, this is my value system,” he said.
“I like that Panagyurishte is alive, young people do not leave, there are children, livelihood, infrastructure. It is good that experience can be passed down to multiply in smaller settlements and in other regions,” he said. “The state has nothing to give, and people want to live now, do not wait,” added the professor.
“I’m not afraid of thecompetition, it is good for me to have other successful people around me,” Tsotsorkov said. “If something has helped me personally to move forward, it is that I’ve always concentrated on the result,” Tsotsorkov said. He stressed that in order to have more successful people, we need to start teaching values and habits from the earliest stage through education.
Prof. Tsotsorkov is a descendant of a famous family from Panagyurishte. He is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of “Assarel Medet” – the largest enterprise in the municipality of Panagyurishte and Pazardzhik. The company is an active participant in the business not only at home but also at global level.
