Second session of Leadership Academy of the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria was attended by principals of 23 schools in Sofia and the surroundings

The initiative is a prolongation of the successfully established Leadership academy, organized by the Council and conducted in collaboration with Parliamentary Committee of Education and Science.

Module 2 of the Leadership academy for principals, initiated by the Council of women in business in Bulgaria, took place on the 26th of January in the International business center of UniCredit Bulbank in Sofia. This is an initiative, organized in collaboration with the Parliamentary Committee of Education and Science whose objective was to train 23 principals of schools in Sofia and the surroundings for skills concerning strategic planning and its implementation in the education.

“I would like to thank our host UniCredit Bulbank for the chance to make this training session happen in such a modern business center. Today’s module of the Leadership academy isn’t focused on theoretical preparation but on acquiring knowledge and new techniques for strategic planning during the interactive training”, Valentina Dikanska, CEO of the Council, greeted the participants. “We hope that this gained experience will help you in the elaboration of your strategies. The know-how exchange between the business and the education will give us new horizons in order to create the contemporary school with ambitious students who one day will become well performing leaders and public figures”, she resumed.

The Academy, led by professionals, concentrates on the leadership abilities development and the encouragement of the entrepreneurship. Participating in the program the principals have to find solutions of business cases while using their experience in the educational system.

“I am very thankful, that you are here today, because our role is to help the business and yours is related to the education. It is not very easy to switch from one way of thinking to another. I admire you all, because today you are here to make that footstep and we are ready to assist”, shared Emiliano Steinfl, Head of International Center Clients at the UniCredit Bulbank Business Center.

The event conducted under the form of simulation of the real business environment in Bulgaria with the active participation of all principals in the program for leaders. The training included new interactive techniques, related to the strategic planning. Bulgarian school leaders met the new regulations for evaluation the quality and standards for an institutional assessment.

The speakers in Leadership Academy are known specialists from the field of human resources, as well as top managers with proven experience in the management of leading Bulgarian and international companies. The program for principals’ qualification is a sequel to the already established Leadership Academy of The Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria, which is held successfully for third consecutive year and is focused on leadership training and so called soft skills of women at middle management positions and women-entrepreneurs, evolving and managing their own business.
