The next generation should concentrate on training and education of women as an important element of the imposition of justice. The education of women is a matter of justice, which is not subject to discussion. This is the opinion expressed by Rangita de Silva de Alwis, Associate Dean of International Affairs at University of Pennsylvania Law School. The participants in the third panel of the Global Women Leaders’ Forum held in Grand Hotel Sofia also agreed to this. The session was dedicated to best practices in education and training that promote the development of women leaders.
In many places around the world still there is a war against the education of women and all countries should oppose this, Rangita de Silva de Alwis urged.
Among the key characteristics of successful women leaders, highlighted in the latest researches, is the assertion of rights, guided by rationality always to achieve what they want, to be compassionate, without being unnecessarily sentimental, to be assertive, without losing control. The question is how to imbed these qualities from an early age, Milena Damyanova, Member of the Bulgarian Parliament and Chairperson of the Parliamentary Education and Science Commission asked. She revealed the general formula for success in this direction – excellent educational results, education of motivational skills to be successful and responsible, nurturing social responsibility.
However, inequalities cannot be overcome by strengthening them, so Bulgaria is oriented towards general assistance programs for talent and leadership, Milena Damyanova said and gave as a good example from practice the implementation of entrepreneurship education in Bulgarian schools. The basic philosophy of the new Education Act in the country that received high appraisal from Europe, is that every child has the potential to be a leader in this, which he/she does best, and that this philosophy will help us to achieve the optimal balance and will help overcome differences, she concluded.
Discovering and promoting talent is the safest way to cross the growing gap between the digital revolution and the lagging behind her educational system, Rumiana Tencheva, Managing Director of SAP’s for Southeast Europe and moderator of the third panel said. Talent, however, can be achieved and found only when there is diversity guaranteed by gender equality and that is the catalyst of change that we will see in the coming years. The businesses have realized this relationship, it is important public level authorities to realize and promote it through policies.
