More than 35 ladies were part of another edition of Morning Coffee with CWBB on the theme of ‘Leadership Journey and Lifelong Learning’. In the initiative of the Networking group at the Council, the guest speaker was Vladimir Borachev – a certified and accredited coach (Professional Certified Coach, PCC) of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), guest lecturer in the Executive Master’s Program (EMBA) of the American University in Bulgaria.

“Our development continues throughout our career. When we stop developing, we actually begin to fall behind,” stressed Borachev. According to him, emotional intelligence is one of the most important factors that help leaders move forward. It takes self-awareness of strengths and weaknesses, self-discipline for concrete steps to self-improvement, and empathy for the people we work with.

The author of the book “Leadership Journey” also pointed out that the most powerful tool against our ego is feedback. In his words, every leader should periodically ask three questions of their teams: What do they recommend I continue to do?; What should I stop doing?; What should I start doing? And the aspiration of every professional should be the so-called “unconscious competence”, where we have developed the skills we would like to have as leaders to such an extent that they become part of our everyday professional communication.

After Vladimir Borachev’s presentation, in several virtual rooms, the ladies from CWBB shared what new skills they have acquired in the last year and how the companies they represent stimulate the development of teams even with the acquisition of skills that are not directly related to their work.

All participants received the so-called “EGOmeter” – a self-assessment test and a tool that gives a good starting point for those weaker areas on which skills need to be built.
