The Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria and the Austrian Association of Women, “Frau in der Wirtschaft”, signed a memorandum of cooperation today, November 10. This happened at the International Center of UniCredit Bulbank in the presence of members of both organizations and also partner organizations.
The memorandum will encourage the development of commercial relations between Bulgaria and Austria and the business opportunities between the members of the two women’s organizations.
The Austrian delegation of 45 businesswomen includes women, managing businesses in the field of media and advertising, the food industry, tourism, management and consulting services, and others. They are in Sofia invited by the Commercial Department of the Austrian Embassy.
Tsvetanka Mincheva, CEO and Chair of the Management Board of UniCredit Bulbank and Chair of the Management Board of the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria, shared with the women details about the organization’s initiatives, including programs to promote the professional development of women in small and medium businesses and their growth in managerial positions, support for young professionals to fulfill their potential in Bulgaria and develop projects to strengthen businesses and develop their skills in different business areas.
“We are excited to be in Bulgaria and will work to establish business contacts and exchange experience,” said Martha Schulz, Head of the Austrian Delegation and Vice President of the Austrian Business Association. The Austrian Association this year celebrates its 40th anniversary.
Greetings to the participants in the event delivered by Michael Novotny, Director of International Center, UniCredit Bulbank, and Philipp Kupfer, Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of Austria and Head of Advantage Austria in Bulgaria. “It is of utmost importance that women have more opportunities to build a network of contacts, both formal and informal. This is a key factor for success,” Kupfer concluded.
