10 IDEAS of the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria

Along the lines of the Global Forum of female leaders – IDEI 2023, The Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria presented 10 IDEAS for the establishment of a more equal and accepting society that provides an environment for inclusion and more  opportunities for everyone. We are ready to work and partner with the Commision in order to implement them and we believe that their employment would contribute with significant progress of the goals that you have set.   

DECLARATION

GLOBAL FORUM OF FEMALE LEADERS IDEI 2023

1. Support for woking, socially insured parents through direct financial monthly assistance 200-300 lv per month for children up to 12 years old.

2. Encouraging young mothers to return earlier to their workplace. Payment of the full amount of maternity leave upon earlier return from maternity leave (currently 50%).

3. Regulation of the possibility of working parents, caring after children up to 12 years of age for
   1. Flexible working hours
   2. Shortened working hours
   3. Remote working

4. Establishing conditions and programs assisting businesses to open nurseries, kindergartens or places with hourly activities for children at the workplace.

5. Supporting young parents through programs and initiatives for training and hiring babysitters.

6. Remitting interest on first home mortgages for families with children.

7. Internship programs – stimulating businesses to engage and train interns who do not have practical experience through programs that encourage employers. Internship programs should be in accordance with the  “Lifelong Learning” policy.

8. Transposition of Directive (EU) 2022/2381 to improve the balance between genders among non-executive directors of associations, admitted to stock exchange trading, as well as its extended application to all big companies.

9. Creation of programs for encouraging female entrepreneurship and initiative in the field of inventions.

Stimulation and promotion of the good practices, initiatives and the role of women in the Green Transition.
