On October 26, representatives of the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria (CWBB), including Tsvetanka Mincheva, Chair of the Management Board, Irena Tsakova, Member of the Management Board, Miglena Uzunova – Tsekova, Member of the Management Board, Sonya Demireva, Administrative Director, members of the Association and the Alumni Club took part in an event organized by America for Bulgaria Foundation, which brought together lecturers and participants in the training, “Corporate Governance and Gender Equality in the Boards: Supporting Women in Business for Their Participation in Supervisory Boards”.
The two-day online course, launched in mid-October and initiated by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Centre for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) in collaboration with Deloitte, was aimed at business women and women in senior positions who want to expand their knowledge of the supervisory board’s function. During the training, they received practical advice to support their management skills and specifically those related to their participation in a company board. They also learned about the latest changes in the regulatory framework aimed at achieving equality in the management boards in the European Union.
At the end of the training, all participants received a certificate from the EBRD for completing the training, “Corporate Governance and Gender Equality in Boards”.
At the closing event, Nancy Schiller, President of the America for Bulgaria Foundation, Mrs. Tsvetanka Mincheva, Chair of the Management Board of CWBB, and Jeff Lightfoot, Program Director of the Center for International Private Enterprise, greeted the participants.
