A Series of Inspiring Modules in the New Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Academy

The Academy for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion unites participants from large companies and NGO organizations. In the past weeks, they received theoretical and practical knowledge from leading professionals in the field.

Dr. Shirley Knowles, Progress’ Chief Inclusion and Diversity Officer, arrived from the US to lead Module 2 of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Academy which covered Benefits of Diversity.

She discussed the economic benefits of companies having diverse teams and gave good examples from her practice. The group actively participated in the interactive elements of the training and provided positive feedback after the module.

Module 3 of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Academy was on Equality in Detail. The lecturer was Prof. Dr. Ivan Angelov, who teaches at the Department of Economic Management of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. Mileslava Bogdanova, lawyer at Komarevski, Dimitrov and Associates Law Firm, as well as Radoslava Petkova, Elena Radeva and Boyan Zahariev from HPE take part in the module as guest lecturers.

The first part of the day of Module 4 of the Academy for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion was dedicated to the benefits of inclusion and was led by Jacqueline Tsocheva, Director of Corporate Communications, Regulatory Affairs and Sustainable Development at Coca-Cola HBK Bulgaria. After that, Gergana Manolova, Sustainable Development Manager at M-Gas EOOD, Chair of CWBB’s Communications Group and a PhD student at Sofia University, presented the topic about overcoming unconscious differences.

Expectedly, the topic about Inclusive Communication, Module 5 in the Academy for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion by CWBB and Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” captured the participants’ interest. Gergana Ivanova and Dr. Alexander Hristov spoke about including and inclusive communication in modern business and crisis situations management with including and inclusive communication.

They were supported by Nia Georgieva, PwC Amsterdam, who via video link shared more about corporate social responsibility‎.
