The second edition of the BASE Academy for Startup Entrepreneurs in Lovech started successfully and with high interest from society. The mayor of f Lovech and the regional governor as well as Mrs. Lidiya Shuleva, representing the Chair of CWBB, and Mr. Alexander Grozdanov, representing the America for Bulgaria Foundation, welcomed the more than 40 participants.

Mrs. Lidiya Shuleva, member of CWBB’s Management Board, former deputy prime minister, minister and current entrepreneur and consultant, delivered an exciting and inspiring lecture. 

Module 1 was dedicated to entrepreneurship. Key highlights included:

• Why is entrepreneurship valuable and where does the key to success lie?
• What are the characteristics of a successful entrepreneur?
• What is the fast-paced entrepreneurial process – from A to Z?
• How can favorable entrepreneurial opportunities be discovered?

Ms. Shuleva’s captivating words, messages and examples provoked many questions from the audience as well as lots of applause.

About the speaker:

Lidiya Shuleva is a managing partner of the consulting company, Business Intellect. She was an Executive Director of Albena Invest Holding. She was Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Minister of Economy, Member of the European and Bulgarian Parliaments. Lidiya Shuleva has more than 25 years of experience as a business and financial consultant and manager. She currently works as a consultant, mentor and coach.

Lidiya Shuleva has master’s degrees in electronics and finance, and numerous specializations in Bulgaria and abroad, including one at the Harvard Kennedy School. She is a chair of the Economic Development Specialized Committee at German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce. She is a member of the International Coach Association ICF and ICF Bulgaria. She is a holder of UN’s World Award “People Changing the World”.
