Representatives of the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria met with the Egyptian ambassador at his residence in Sofia on September 20. While the invitation was sent to CWBB at the end of 2021, the meeting happened now because of the pandemic.

During the meeting, Ambassador Emara presented to the CWBB’s ladies the activities of two organizations in Egypt that also work to empower women in business.

“I’d like to thank Ambassador Emara for helping us create an opportunity for collaboration with organizations with which we share common principles,” said Zoya Paunova, Honorary General Consul of the Kingdom of Sweden and Chair of CWBB’s group for international cooperation.

Topics of the meeting also included the current situation in Egypt and Bulgaria regarding the pandemic, the energy crisis and the role of both countries in dealing with the situation, as well as the importance of natural resources and their protection. In November 2022, Egypt will host the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP 27), which will be held in Sharm el-Sheikh.

Ambassador Emara accepted to be a guest at events organized by CWBB in the coming months.
