- The CEO of SiteMedia was the fifth guest of young.LEADERS.talk series
- Be brave, curious and do not be afraid of failure, said Zagorska
The CEO of SiteMedia Consultancy Ruja Zagorska gave eight tips for creativity to the trainees from member companies of Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria. She was the fifth guest of young.LEADERS.talk series within the Council’s National Internship Initiative. Their purpose is to enable young people to meet their role models – from political leaders and top managers of leading companies to young professionals and entrepreneurs – and draw lessons from their personal stories.
Ruja Zagorska, who has 17 years of successful experience in marketing and communications, spoke about creativity which is increasingly considered as a key requirement for jobseekers. She pointed out that her own idea of creativity has changed. This is a quality that is separated from emotions, said Ruja.
She gave trainees 8 rules how to be creative. The first is to be curious, to like asking “why” and to want to change things. Secondly, a creative person manages to look at a problem from all sides. The third condition is the ability to find links between facts and information which, at first sight, have nothing in common. The abstract thinking is also a very important condition as an integral part of successful brainstorming.
The fifth step of creativity, recommended to the trainees, was to be persistent. The creative people do not stop until they find the most effective solution, added Ruja Zagorska.
For those who want to be creative is also very important to be able to manage a lot of information. The seventh step is courage. Creative people are brave people whose ideas may seem shocking, but they are not afraid of trying to implement them in practice , said Zagorska.
The last but not the least important advice she gave to the trainees was to not be afraid of failure. There is no more valuable adviser than the failure because it shows what does not work, stated Zagorska. According to her, nobody was born creative but this quality could be developed with persistence and willingness for change.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria has been organizing the National Internship Initiative “Stay in Bulgaria”. The program is oriented towards the youngest professionals and will enable them once again to prove their qualities and skills, to get involved into the real business and to find opportunities for development along with suitable environment and a stimulus for their professional realization in Bulgaria. The initiative is under the patronage of Mrs. Eva Maydell, MEP.
In 2018 the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria launched its Young.LEADERS.talk series which takes place within the Council’s National Internship Initiative. Its purpose is to enable young people to meet their role models – political leaders, managers and young professionals who started their own careers as interns, as well as to visit some of the largest companies in Bulgaria. In this way young people have the opportunity to get familiar with the business world and to learn how companies are organized and how they operate.
