World-renowned scientists, diplomats, entrepreneurs and journalists, will be among the speakers and guests at the upcoming International Conference Global Women Leaders Forum (#GWLForum), which will be held in Bulgaria on 18-20 May 2016 in Sofia. The conference theme is “To inspire the next generation of leaders.”
The event is organized by the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and is under the patronage of UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova.
Leaders from Bulgaria and abroad already confirmed their presense at the three-day forum in Bulgaria. They include Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Ivaylo Kalfin, Deputy Prime Minister of Bulgaria and Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Meglena Kuneva, Deputy Prime Minister of Bulgaria and Minister of education and science, Lilyana Pavlova, an honorary member of the Council of women and Minister for regional development and Public Works, Temenuzhka Petkova, Minister of energy, Rene Beyer, photojournalist winner of the Pulitzer Prize, Rangin de Silva in December Aluis, Dean at the University of Pennsylvania law and many others.
For the first time Bulgaria will host such international forum dealing with the topics important for women leaders. The conference will bring together prominent women from a wide range of social life – politics, business, culture, science, technology, international organizations and others.
The forum will discuss topics related to new paradigms on the role of women, tackling gender prejudices and practices to promote leadership potential. Statesmen, politicians and diplomats from the region are invited to participate in a special round table of women in politics and government equality.
