“Bulgarian women are expected to have over-abilities. Except being working women they have to fulfill their traditional duties in the family”. H.E. Irit Lilian – the Ambassador of Israel to Bulgaria shared this impression on a meeting with the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria. The event took place in November in the capital’s restaurant The View.
Ms Lilian was one of the special guests of the organization to comment on the issues of gender equality, to tell the personal story of her career and the challenges and her impressions of Bulgaria.
One of the discussed topics was the one for the entrepreneurship and what makes it successful. Making parallel between her own country and Bulgaria the Israel Ambassador told that the entrepreneurs in her own country are encouraged while they are still young to be bold to express their opinion and not to afraid of making mistakes. She recommends us to actively work in this direction as this is one of the factors for successful development.
Ms Lilian shared official data according to which Israel ranks 11th place in the World’s Index of the happiest countries. “If people feel themselves secure and safe in the society, their family, social circle, at their working place and in their own country as a whole they are happier”, the Ambassador added.
